Dear residents!
The last months of last year and on New Year's holidays, residents of our house were concerned about the air quality at elevator shafts and common areas. The most spoiled air was on the first floors, but a persistent smell lasted up to 14 floors inclusive.
The cause of such problems is the extremely neglected state of urban wastewater systems, and simply the city’s sewer canals, where sewage falls both in our house and from nearby houses. The wells in which our house is connected to the sewage system are final, and therefore we get the most from the nearby houses.
In 2019, the emergency service of the city cleaned the wells 4 times, this year the cleaning was done only on January 9, 2020, after submitting six applications from the beginning of the year (to which there was no reaction) and scandals with the city’s dispatch services. For reference - emergency cleaning of canals for residents is "free" (each of us pays for water disposal).
Since emergency work does not have stable results, the canals clogged again and again, the board will soon organize a complete preventive cleaning of the sewer canals from our wells to the main collector. An open question remains regarding the payment for such work. Even if the city carries out such work on a paid basis, the board will ensure that such work is carried out for our overall comfortable stay.
Separately, pay attention! For reasons of "clogging" the channels, an engineer with experience in the emergency service, with whom the executive director and the chairman of the AJOAH communicated, explained the reasons for the cleaning:
1) deterioration of channels, nonsmooth passages, chips, ledges, sprouted tree roots - all this is the reason for clinging to the wrong garbage (thick paper, synthetics, hygiene products and other things that are forbidden to be thrown into the sewer);
2) getting into the sewer the wrong garbage, see above;
3) too economical use by residents of the house of hot water when washing dishes. Fat accumulates because it crystallizes in cool water and adheres to the walls of the channels and forms a continuous plug. This was not the case if the water was hot and the grease was washed smoothly to the collector.
Given the circumstances of the "clogging" of the channels of government, he earnestly asks each of our residents to at least use the sewers for their intended purpose!
Do not throw household and construction waste, bags, hygiene products, heavy paper, etc. into the toilet!!
If we want to live comfortably, we must adhere to the generally accepted rules for the operation of civilization systems.
Respectfully to everyone,
Thanks for understanding.
