Yesterday, 04/02/2021 at 19:14, the fire alarm went off in the elevator 2 of the entrance of our house!
Chairman of the Management Board A.I. Savycheva instantly, after 3 minutes, I was already at the scene, a little later other directors also pulled up.

After assessing the situation, the source of the smoke was the electric motor of the freight elevator, it was decided to de-energize all electrical equipment to it. It didn’t come to the fire, we managed to prevent the big trouble in time.

The elevator service was immediately notified of the incident. After the initial examination, the specialists of the service made preliminary conclusions:

• The winding of the electric motor (manufactured in 1976) is damaged, the freight elevator of the 2nd entrance is prohibited to operate!

• Due to the power outage of the relay automation of the freight elevator, the passenger elevator is called from all floors except the first. That is, the button for calling the passenger elevator on the 1st floor of the 2nd entrance does not work, so all residents are invited to call the elevator from the 2nd floor if you need to go to the upper floors.

In connection with the stop of the freight elevator, before it is repaired, we strongly ask all residents who are doing repairs or who need to raise/lower heavy things, building materials, etc., do not overload the passenger elevator!

If there is a passenger elevator, we will walk and wish health to those responsible for the breakdown of the elevators! Remember, the earth is round, it will return, you will not catch it.

Of the positive:

• In practice, the operability of the fire alarm system has been tested, it works, thereby avoiding a fire with more serious consequences.
  

• The security and fire alarm system was installed and the management forces adjusted and put into operation in the fall of last year on the common premises – two elevators, the roof and the attic of the entire house of the 1st and 2nd entrances, which made it possible to reliably protect against unauthorized intrusion of unauthorized persons into any technical premises of the upper perimeter of our house and provided early warning of smoke or fire in the elevators of the 1st and 2nd entrances. We also remind you that earlier, by the forces of the board, security, fire and flooding alarms were installed, configured and put into operation in our Individual heating station.

• AJOAH held an unscheduled general meeting in advance with the adoption of a decision on the modernization of elevators, we have already been included in the city's program for such modernization – this gives reason to look with optimism at the problem with the freight elevator of the 2nd entrance. Replacement of all our motors and gearboxes is planned for this year.
  

• The decision to repair an electric motor that is out of order will be made after studying the causes of the accident by the lift service and the recommendations provided, we will additionally inform.
